I Need Your Help!

I’m writing an article for employmentcrossings.com on how to retain Generation Y employees.  Naturally this article is due TOMORROW and I have a ways to go before finishing it.

I feel strongly that employers need to approach Gen Y’ers much differently than generations past based on our use of technology, love for feedback and instant gratification if they want to grow their companies.

So, I’d love some of your opinions and feedback.  Comment or email me tonight!  (nicole@executive-vision.com)

  • In your opinion, what makes a company ideal for people in our generation?
  • What type of management, schedule, and perks would make you consider staying at a company long term?
  • Is a mentorship program important to you?
  • Does dress code effect your job satisfaction and/or productivity?
  • How important is work/life balance?
  • How important is it to you that creativity or sharing ideas is part of your role in the company?

Thanks!

  1. Most of us who are just starting out in the corporate world went to college in the era of wireless Internet, which allowed us to work just about anywhere – and change our surroundings when we needed new creative inspiration. I would love to see a company embrace this culture by giving its employees laptops and a more open work-space where everyone can move around and find inspiration without being tied to one place.

  2. I want to avoid being to self promoting but I wrote a blog post about what the “future” workforce will require of their employers that might give you some thoughts for your article…hope it helps…I hope you post the article! Cheers.
